Barack O’Bama

In honor of St. Green Stuff Day:

He’s as Irish as bacon and cabbage and stew
He’s Hawaiian he’s Kenyan American too
He’s in the white house, He took his chance
Now let’s see Barack do Riverdance

Toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a lama
There’s no one as Irish As Barack O’Bama

So many ideas about our President’s heritage. We all know Barack is really from Hawaii, but this song presents another view. I think it’s really wonderful to have such an ethnically diverse presence in the white house, even if all the diversity is contained within one person.

However, not all Americans love the diversity. Extremists have been crying foul over his middle name (Hussein) since the campaign races started, assuming it spells some sort of connection to Iraqi warlord Saddam Hussein and nuclear warfare. One particularly vocal extremist unleashed this brazen quote in reference to our Commander-in-Chief:

”This president I think has exposed himself over and over again as a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture….I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people, I’m saying he has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist.” – Glenn Beck

With all due respect, Mr. Beck, I think that’s a load of rubbish. Anyone with a soul and access to a television or the internet knows that you are one of the most offensive creatures ever granted permission to broadcast your thoughts to the world. Furthermore, what is “white culture.” In case you are not aware, referencing a culture based entirely on race does nothing to counteract racism. It only exacerbates the distinctions we place between ourselves and the rest of humanity. Open your mind and feel the love, Glenny. It’s everywhere. I pity you.

Poor Glenn…no one writes songs for hatemongers.

    • Thank you so much for that. Jon Stewart illustrates (literally) everything that makes Glenn Beck’s claims completely ridiculous. The man is simply devoid of logic…and Irish heritage.
